Box Score 2 (Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston split a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) doubleheader with the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) today at the UMC Baseball Field. The Golden Eagles took game one 2-1 before dropping the nightcap 11-1 in eight innings.
U of M, Crookston is 10-28 overall and 4-20 in the NSIC. UMD is now 16-21 overall and 9-14 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles return to NSIC action on Wednesday, April 24 when they travel to Mankato, Minn. to face Minnesota State University in a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
Game One Recap
Ben Lazzari (Sr, RHP, Shakopee, Minn.) threw a complete game allowing one run on six hits while walking one as U of M, Crookston beat the Bulldogs in baseball for the first time in school history 2-1. It was also Lazzari's first career victory. The Golden Eagles won when
Jordan Prill (Jr, 1B, Melrose, Minn.) tripled to left center in the bottom of the sixth and later scored on a passed ball breaking a 1-1 tie.
Josh Brehmer (So, 2B, Roseville, Minn.) had two hits for U of M, Crookston.
Cody Aasen had two hits for UMD.
Game Two Recap
Mike Darley went 5-6 with two runs batted in (RBI) and four runs scored as UMD won 11-1 in eight innings. Anders Engberg went 4-4 with four RBI.
Prill and
J.M. Habeck (Sr, OF, Winnipeg, Man.) each had two hits for the Golden Eagles.
