Box Score 2 (Crookston, Minn.)- Bemidji State University (BSU) swept a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) doubleheader from the University of Minnesota, Crookston this evening at Jim Karn Field in Crookston, Minn. The Beavers took game won 8-3 and the nightcap 6-2. BSU improves to 17-17 overall and 10-10 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 8-25 overall and 3-17 in the NSIC.
U of M, Crookston return to action tomorrow when they travel to Mayville State University to finish a halted game with the Comets at 4 p.m.
Game One Recap
Mauricio Gomez went 4-4 and BSU rallied from a 3-1 deficit to win 8-3. Lewis Baumann added a hit and two runs batted in (RBI). Jaryd Marks threw seven innings allowing three runs on six hits while striking out six and walking one to get the win.
Jordan Flick (Jr, OF, Dassel, Minn.) hit a three-run homerun for U of M, Crookston.
Game Two Recap
Baumann and Zach Braun each had three hits as the Beavers won the nightcap 6-2. Gomez and Chad Hanson
each added two hits. Miles Campbell picked up the win allowing two runs (one earned) on 11 hits while
striking out five. Phil Bray threw the final two innings allowing no runs on no hits while striking out six and
walking one to get the save.
J.M. Habeck (Sr, OF, Winnipeg, Man.) went 3-4 to lead the Golden Eagles.
Josh Brehmer (So, 2B, Roseville,
Minn.) and
Jordan Prill (Jr, 1B, Melrose, Minn.) each added two hits.
