(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Baseball team returns to action on Sunday, February 26 when they face Jamestown College in a non-conference doubleheader at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minn. First-pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
The Golden Eagles opened the 2012 season in solid fashion sweeping a non-conference doubleheader from Valley City State University by scores of 5-0 and 5-4. U of M, Crookston is led by
Mitch Allore (Sr, 1B, North Mankato, Minn.) who is hitting .500 (4-8) with one run batted in (RBI).
J.C. Crane (Jr, C, Tucson, Ariz.) is hitting .333 (2-6).
Matt Korte (So, RHP/IF/OF, St. Cloud, Minn.) is 1-0 with a 0.00 earned run average (ERA) and seven strikeouts.
Bobby Arens is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA.
Nick Kelzer (So, RHP, Delano, Minn.) has a 1.80 ERA and four strikeouts.
Golden Eagles vs. Jamestown College Sunday, February 26 5 p.m.
The Jimmies will open the 2012 season with their games against U of M, Crookston. Jamestown finished 2011 with an overall record of 32-13-1 and DAC 10 record of 14-6. The Jimmies top returning players include Max Boe who hit .333 (53-159) with 31 RBI. Ben Watkins finished 4-0 on the mound with a 3.24 ERA.
