Box Score (Winona, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team closed out the 2011-12 road tonight as the team played Winona State University. The Golden Eagles started slow and the Warriors started fast today as WSU took a 15 point lead into the half 38-23. Minnesota, Crookston played better in the second half but for the second night in a row, turnover proved costly as UMC committed 18 turnovers that turned into 23 Warrior points in the 81-58 Winona State victory.
 
The Golden Eagles were led tonight by Megan Eul (F, 5-10, Sr, Rosemount, Minn.) who scored a team-high 13 points. She was 4-9 from the field, 2-3 from long range and 3-4 from the free-throw line. Eul tied a game-high with nine assists and dished two assists in the game.
 
Winona State was led by Michelle McDonald who scored a game-high 18 points. She was followed by Marieanna Dulas and Kelsey Andrist who scored 15 points each. McDonald tied Eul with nine rebounds in the game.
 
Minnesota, Crookston moves to 9-15 on the season and 6-14 in the NSIC. Winona State advances to 17-9 overall and 12-8 in conference play. The Golden Eagles return to action next Friday and Saturday when the team closes out the 2011-12 season against Wayne State and Augustana. Games are set for 6 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday.
