Turnovers Cost Golden Eagle Women a Must Win

Box Score (Fayette, Iowa)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team made the long road trip to Upper Iowa today to take on the Peacocks. The Golden Eagles defeated UIU 75-63 on January 14 in Lysaker Gymnasium. Tonight the Peacocks took advantage of a team season-high 26 turnovers for UMC that contributed 27 Upper Iowa points in the 81-59 Peacock victory.
 
The Golden Eagles as a team combined for a season-high 48 total rebounds. UMC was led on the night by the trio of Megan Eul (F, 5-10, Sr, Rosemount, Minn.), Cienna Walker (G, 5-10, Fr, Ajax, Ontario), and Carli Bunning (F, 6-0, Jr, Boone, Iowa) who scored 13 points each. Eul tallied the only double-double of the game by grabbing a career-high 12 rebounds in addition to her points.
 
Upper Iowa was led by Jeri Jacobson who scored a game-high 19 points. She was followed by Whitney Kieffer who scored 17 points and added a team-high eight rebounds.
 
Minnesota, Crookston moves to 9-14 on the season and 6-13 in the NSIC. Upper Iowa advances to 3-20 overall and 3-16 in conference play. The Golden Eagles return to the court tomorrow to play the Warriors of Winona State. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
