Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- Upper Iowa University defeated the University of Minnesota, Crookston 75-63 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Men's Basketball game tonight in Fayette, Iowa.
The Peacocks (8-15 overall, 5-14 NSIC) were led by Sam Elgin who scored 18 points (7-11) and pulled down six rebounds. Tucker Wentzien scored 16 points (7-17) with 13 rebounds. Joey Woods scored 14 points (4-5) while Jake Hughes added ten points (7-8 from the free-throw line).
The Golden Eagles (7-16 overall, 3-16 NSIC) were led by
Akeem Cubie (6-6, Sr, G/F, Minneapolis, Minn.) who scored a game-high 22 points (10-16).
Almir Krdzalic (5-11, Jr, G, Sioux Falls, S.D.) added 13 points (4-10).
U of M, Crookston returns to NSIC action on Saturday, February 18 when they travel Winona State University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
