Box Score (Duluth, Minn.) The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball took on the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs this afternoon in an NSIC match-up. The Golden Eagles looked to do what they did last night against Bemidji State, take a halftime deficit and turn it into a victory. Tonight however, UMC was down seven at the break 33-26 but couldn't find the magic touch in the second half as UMD outscored the Golden Eagles 39-21 to take the 72-47 win.
The Golden Eagles were led by
Megan Eul (5-10, Sr, F, Rosemount, Minn.) who scored a team-high 14 points. She was 4-10 from the field, 2-3 from long range and 4-5 from the free-throw line.
Laurie Tyson (6-1, Jr., C, Rosemount, Minn.) added seven points and tied a game-high with three blocked shots. Minnesota, Crookston played strong in the paint winning the low game 18-16 for the game.
Minnesota Duluth was led by Katrina Newman who scored 16 points and went 7-17 from the field. Kaiya Sygulla led all players with 10 rebounds while Emma Van Winkle tied
Laurie Tyson with three blocked shots.
Minnesota, Crookston moves to 9-13 on the season and 6-12 in the NSIC. UMD advances to 14-8 overall and 11-7 in the conference. The Golden Eagles are on the road again next weekend as the team travels to Upper Iowa and Winona State on Friday and Saturday. Game times are set for 6 p.m. on February 17 and 5 p.m. on February 18.
