Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) took a 16 point lead into the locker room at the half and never looked back as the Bulldogs defeated the University of Minnesota, Crookston by an 81-56 score in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Men's Basketball game tonight in Duluth, Minn.
UMD outshot the Golden Eagles 52.6% (30-57) to 31.7% (20-63). U of M, Crookston out-rebounded the Bulldogs 42-32 but committed 19 turnovers to UMD's 11.
Ryan Rasmussen led the Bulldogs (13-9, 10-8 NSIC) and all scorers with 18 points (7-12). Riley Walker added 14 points (5-10) and five rebounds. Dan Kornbaum (6-7) and Jake Hottenstine (3-9) each added 12 points. Hottenstine also pulled down 8 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles (7-15, 3-15 NSIC) were led by
Akeem Cubie (6-6, Sr, G/F, Minneapolis, Minn.) who scored 16 points (8-15) and pulled down eight rebounds.
Justin Rake (6-3, Jr, G, Hattiesburg, Miss.) added ten points (4-9).
U of M, Crookston returns to NSIC action on Friday, February 17 and Saturday, February 18 when they travel to Upper Iowa University and Winona State University. The games tip-off at 8 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively.
