Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) scored two second half goals breaking a scoreless tie and went on to defeat the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) 2-0 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) game today in Crookston, Minn.
The Dragons came out firing in the second half when Amanda Wurdeman nailed a shot to the upper left corner just 1:23 into the half to put MSUM up 1-0. She was assisted by Erin Nyberg. They put the game away at 50:39 when Nyberg played a ball in front of the net and found the right hand corner scoring an unassisted goal.
Ashley Leintz recorded one save for the Dragons.
Drew Underdahl (So, GK, Zumbro Falls, Minn.) recorded two saves for the Golden Eagles.
MSUM improves to 3-8-1 overall and 2-6-1 in the NSIC. UMC falls to 2-9-1 overall and 2-6-1 in the NSIC.
The Golden Eagles return to NSIC action on Saturday, October 13 against Winona State University and Sunday, October 14 against Upper Iowa University. Both games are at the UMC Soccer Field and begin at 1 p.m.
