Box Score (Bismarck, N.D.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team traveled to the University of Mary today to play the Marauders in a rare Sunday NSIC match-up. Both teams started slowly combining for 43 total points in the first half. Mary shot 50% in the second half and dominated the paint with 44 points down low to UMC's 20 in the game en route to the 59-46 conference victory.
The Golden Eagles were led this afternoon by
Megan Eul (F, 5-10, Sr., Rosemount, Minn.) who scored a team-high 11 points. She was 4-9 from the field and 3-4 from the free-throw line. She added a team-high three assists and one steal.
Laurie Tyson (C, 6-1, Jr., Rosemount, Minn.) grabbed a team-high six rebounds and scored six points. UMC grabbed 11 offensive rebounds and turned that into 11 second chance points in the game.
Mary was led by Linda Murray who scored 16 points. She was 7-13 from the field, grabbed a game-high nine rebounds, and blocked a game-high three shots. Mary blocked eight total shots in the game.
Minnesota, Crookston falls to 7-6 on the season and 4-5 in conference play. Mary advances to 11-3 overall and 8-2 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles return to the court on Friday, January 13 and Saturday, January 14 to host Winona State and Upper Iowa. Game times are set for 6 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday.
