Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men's Basketball team has put together some impressive efforts all season only to come up short. The Golden Eagles were finally rewarded for their persistence and hard work as Jacolby Anderson (6-2, Sr, G, Lancaster, Tex.) scored 19 of his game-high 27 points in the second half to lead U of M, Crookston to a 56-53 over the University of Mary (U-Mary) in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) action today in Bismarck, N.D.

The Golden Eagles were down 31-28 at the half but took a 33-32 lead at 19:14 of the second half and never trailed again. They led by as many as six points with 11:36 remaining in the second half. Alan Sharp, Jr. (6-1, Jr, G, Flint, Mich.) pulled down a critical offensive rebound after Anderson missed a free throw with 14 seconds left to secure the victory.

U of M, Crookston improves to 5-8 overall and 1-8 in the NSIC. Anderson was an incredible 11-19 from the field to back up last night's 29 point performance with 27 more including going 4-7 from three-point range. He also pulled down four rebounds and added two assists.
Akeem Cubie (6-6, Sr, G/F, Minneapolis, Minn.) added 12 points (4-9) with five rebounds.

U-Mary falls to 3-11 overall and 2-9 in the NSIC. They were led by Damon Smith who scored 19 points (7-8) and 11 rebounds. He also added two assists. Josh Turner scored 18 points (7-10).

The Golden Eagles return to NSIC action on Friday, January 13 and Saturday, January 14 when they play host to Winona State University and Upper Iowa University respectively. Friday's game begins at 8 p.m. while Saturday's game begins at 6 p.m.
