Golden Eagles Tie Three-Point Record in 77-60 Win Over Wolves

Box Score (Aberdeen, S.D.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team traveled to Northern State University this evening to take on the Wolves who were on a two game winning streak. The Golden Eagles stopped that streak and tied a team record with 14 three-pointers to take the 77-60 victory. Minnesota, Crookston shot an astonishing 73.7% (14-19) from long range, a better average than from the field or even from the free-throw line in the game.
 
The Golden Eagles were led by Brittani Wiese (G, 5-7, Jr., Albertville, Minn.) who scored a game-high 19 points. She was 7-16 from the field, 2-4 from the free-throw line and 3-4 from beyond the arc. She grabbed five bounds, dished a game-high eight assists and stole three NSU passes. Megan Eul (F, 5-10, Sr., Rosemount, Minn.) added 15 points while Carly Rothstein (F, 5-10, So., St. Michael, Minn.) had a career night with 13 points. She was 5-9 from the field, 3-5 from long range and she led all players with five steals. As a team, the Golden Eagles scored 29 points off NSU turnovers.
 
Northern State was led by Emily Becken who scored 16 points. She was followed by Sadie Stotesbery and Mikayla Barondeau who scored 11 and 10 points respectively.
 
Minnesota, Crookston falls to 7-5 on the season and 4-4 in conference play. Northern State falls to 9-5 and 5-4 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles return to the court tomorrow to play the University of Mary. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
