(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team returns to Lysaker Gymnasium this Saturday, January 28 to host MSU Moorhead in an NSIC contest. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. The Golden Eagles are looking for the season sweep after defeating the Dragons 67-59 on December 10 in Moorhead. This is another critical contest for Minnesota, Crookston as both teams are tied for ninth place in the NSIC with only the top eight teams making post season play. Minnesota, Crookston- (8-9, 5-8 NSIC) The Golden Eagles had a tough weekend going 0-2 against St. Cloud State and Concordia- St. Paul. Minnesota, Crookston was led by
Megan Eul (F, 5-10, Sr. Rosemount Minn.). Eul scored a team high 18 points against St. Cloud and added a scored a game-high 19 points against Concordia- St. Paul. She was 13-29 (44.8%) from the field and 9-11 (81.8%) from the free-throw line. She was second on the team with 15 rebounds and led the team with six steals.
MSU Moorhead- (8-9, 5-8 NSIC) Angie Jetvig (F, 6-2, Sr., Hawley, Minn.) led the NSIC in scoring and rebounding this past weekend as she averaged 23.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game as she helped lead the Dragons to a pair of road victories over Concordia St. Paul and St. Cloud State. Jetvig scored 16 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to go along with three assists and three blocked shots in Friday's win at Concordia St. Paul. She then broke out for a 31 point performance Saturday at St. Cloud State. She added 11 rebounds, five assists and two block shots in that game as well. Her 31 points were a career high and is the highest point total in a NSIC contest this season.
