Box Score (St. Paul, Minn.) The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball took on Concordia- St. Paul this afternoon in another critical NSIC game. The Golden Eagles led by as many as 11 in the first half and went into the break up 34-25. But like last night, the final 20 minutes of the game proved the enemy of Minnesota, Crookston. The Golden Bears came out and shot 45% from the field after shooting 25% in the first half. CSP outscored the Golden Eagles 42-32 in the second half to take the 67-66 victory after a three-point play with 4.3 seconds remaining.
The Golden Eagles were led by
Megan Eul (F, 5-10, Sr. Rosemount Minn.) who scored a game-high 19 points. She was 6-11 from the field and 6-6 from the free-throw line. She was the only player in the contest to tally a double-double as she added 10 rebounds.
Brittani Wiese (G, 5-7, Jr., Albertville, Minn.) and
Carly Rothstein (F, 5-10, So., St. Michael, Minn.) followed Eul with 13 and 12 points respectively.
Concordia- St. Paul was led by Carissa Wolyniec who tallied 16 points. She was followed by Mandy Poke and Rachel Hansen who scored 14 points each. Erica Gress led Concordia- St. Paul with eight rebounds and she added 12 points.
Minnesota, Crookston now sits at 8-9 overall and 5-8 in the NSIC. Concordia- St. Paul moves to 8-11 overall and 5-8 in conference play. The Golden Eagles return to Lysaker Gymnasium on Saturday, January 28 to host conference rival MSU Moorhead. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
