Late Free Throws by Wildcats Sink Golden Eagle Men 63-62

(Crookston, Minn.)- Wayne State College's Vontrell Seroyer hit a pair of free throws with three seconds remaining in the game as the Wildcats held on for a 63-62 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Men's Basketball victory over the University of Minnesota, Crookston tonight in Wayne, Neb.

The Golden Eagles held a slim 26-24 halftime lead before Wayne State College outscored U of M,
Crookston 39-36 in the second half to take home the NSIC victory.

The Wildcats were led by Brad Starken who scored 19 points (4-11 from the field) with four rebounds. Ben Tasa scored 16 points (5-8 from the field) with four rebounds. Seroyer added 11 points (3-4 from the field).

U of M, Crookston's Larry Brown (Jr, F, St. Paul, Minn.) scored a game-high 25 points (10-19 from the field) with six rebounds. Almir Krdzalic (So, G, Sioux Falls, S.D.) scored 13 points (5-8 from the field) and Adam Hendricks (Sr, F, Watertown, Minn.) added 12 points (4-7 from the field).

Wayne State College improves to 12-13 overall and 81-3 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 7-18 overall and 3-18 in the NSIC.

U of M, Crookston closes out the 2010-2011 season at Augustana College on Saturday, February 26 at 6 p.m.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is an NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).
