Golden Eagle Men Host Final Regular Season Home Games

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men's Basketball team hosts its final regular season home games on Friday, February 18 and Saturday, February 19 when they play host to Upper Iowa University and Winona State University respectively. Friday's game starts at 8 p.m. while Saturday's game starts at 6 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on Midcontinent Channel 27 in Crookston.

The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 6-16 and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) record of 2-16 after dropping a pair of NSIC games to Bemidji State University (85-78) and the University of Minnesota Duluth (95-79) at home this past weekend. U of M, Crookston is led by Eric Dearden (Sr, G, Riverton, Utah) who is averaging 14.4 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. Larry Brown (Jr, F, St. Paul, Minn.) is averaging 13.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Adam Hendricks (Sr, F, Watertown, Minn.) is averaging 10.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

The Golden Eagles will have five seniors who will play their final regular season home games. In addition to Dearden and Hendricks, Jason Servaty (Sr, G, St. Michael, Minn.), Mike Larsen (Sr, F, Bluffdale, Utah) and Jon Michalski (Sr, G, Silver Bay, Minn.) will also see their final regular season action at Lysaker Gymnasium this coming weekend.

Golden Eagles vs. Upper Iowa University  Friday, February 18   8 p.m.

The Peacocks have an overall record of 7-15 and NSIC record of 6-12 after defeating Winona State University in an NSIC contest at home on Saturday night by an 80-64 score. Upper Iowa University is led by Matt Lesan who is averaging 13.7 points per game and Tucker Wentzien who is averaging 12.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. The Golden Eagles defeated the Peacocks 73-66 in an overtime thriller back on January 15.

Golden Eagles vs. Winona State University Saturday, February 19  6 p.m.

The Warriors have an overall record of 15-7 and NSIC record of 11-7 after dropping an 80-64 NSIC decision at Upper Iowa University on Saturday night. Winona State University is led by Anthony Tucker who is averaging 17.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. Clayton Vete is averaging 14.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Ben Fischer is averaging 10.2 points per game. The Warriors defeated the Golden Eagles 108-68 back on January 14.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is an NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).
