(Crookston, Minn.)- Bemidji State University (BSU) took a 39-32 halftime lead and held on for an 85-78 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Men's Basketball victory over the University of Minnesota, Crookston tonight in Crookston, Minn. in a game marred by 63 fouls. Seven players fouled out of the game.
Lance Rongstad led the Beavers with 22 points (18-20 from the free-throw line) and seven rebounds. James Ellisor scored 15 points (5-6 from the field) with eight rebounds. Bryce Tesdahl scored 12 points (3-7 from the field) while Jake Schalow added 11 points (3-4 from the field).
The Golden Eagles were led by Larry Brown (Jr, F, St. Paul, Minn.) who scored 18 points (6-16 from the field). Almir Krdzalic (So, G, Sioux Falls, S.D.) scored 15 points (11-15 from the free-throw line). Eric Dearden (Sr, G, Riverton, Utah) added 13 points (5-10 from the field).
BSU improves to 8-13 overall and 5-12 in the NSIC. U of M, Crookston falls to 6-15 overall and 2-15 in the NSIC.
The Golden Eagles return to NSIC action on Saturday, February 12 when they host the University of Minnesota Duluth. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
