(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men's Basketball team opens the 2012 portion of their schedule with a pair of home Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) contests. The Golden Eagles face Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) on Monday, January 2 and Minnesota State University (MSU) on Tuesday, January 3. Both games tip-off at 8 p.m. at Lysaker Gymnasium.
U of M, Crookston has an overall record of 4-5 record and NSIC record of 0-5 after dropping games at Augustana College (66-60) and Wayne State College (64-49) on December 17 and 18 respectively. The Golden Eagles are led by
Akeem Cubie (6-6, Sr, G/F, Minneapolis, Minn.) who is averaging 16 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
Jacolby Anderson (6-2, Sr, G, Lancaster, Tex.) is averaging 15.6 points per game.
Golden Eagles vs. Southwest Minnesota State Monday, January 2 8 p.m.
The Mustangs have an overall record of 5-5 and NSIC record of 4-2 after dropping a 79-72 decision to Winona State University on December 16 and defeating Upper Iowa University 73-67 on December 17. Jordan Miller leads SMSU averaging 15.1 points and five rebounds per game. Matt Zager is averaging 10.2 points per game.
Golden Eagles vs. Minnesota State Tuesday, January 3 8 p.m.
The Mavericks have an overall record of 3-7 and NSIC record of 2-4 after defeating Upper Iowa University 58-55 on December 16 and losing to Winona State University 78-72 on December 17. Connor O'Brien leads MSU averaging 11.1 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Stephen Kirschbaum is averaging 9.9 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
