Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- Wayne State College (WSC) opened up a 38-27 halftime lead and never looked back as they defeated the University of Minnesota, Crookston by a 64-49 score in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Men's Basketball action today in Wayne, Neb.
U of M, Crookston shot 48.9% (22-45) from the field as opposed to the Wildcats shooting 55.8% (24-43) from the field. WSC led by as many as 18 points with 7:31 left in the second half.
Amry Shelby led all scorers with 18 points (5-12) and added six rebounds. Derrell Williams added 15 points (5-10) and seven rebounds. Nick Wuebker scored 15 points (7-7) and pulled down six rebounds.
Jacolby Anderson (6-2, Sr, G, Lancaster, Tex.) led the Golden Eagles with 11 points.
WSC improves to 3-7 overall and 2-4 in the NSIC. U of M, Crookston falls to 4-5 overall and 0-5 in the NSIC.
The Golden Eagles return to NSIC home action on Monday, January 2 and Tuesday, January 3 when they host Southwest Minnesota State University and Minnesota State University respectively at Lysaker Gymnasium. Both games tip-off at 8 p.m.
