Golden Eagle Men Put Forth Solid Effort But Fall to # 16 Augustana College 66-60

Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men's Basketball team put forth another impressive effort this time against Augustana College who was ranked 16th in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll. However, the Vikings overcame an 11 point second half deficit to defeat the Golden Eagles 66-60 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) game Saturday night in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Augustana College held a 32-30 halftime lead despite the fact that U of M, Crookston outshot them 52% (13-25) to 47.8% (11-23). The Golden Eagles led by as many as 11 points at 10:21 in the second half before the Vikings went on a 14-2 run and never surrendered the lead again.

Augustana College was led by Cody Schilling who scored a game high 23 points (7-13). He also added five rebounds. Drae Murray added 17 points (5-11) with five rebounds.

U of M, Crookston was led by Jacolby Anderson (6-2, Sr, G. Lancaster, Tex.) who scored 17 points (7-16). Akeem Cubie (6-6, Sr, G/F, Minneapolis, Minn.) added 15 points (7-16) and a game high eight rebounds.

The Vikings improve to 8-1 overall and 5-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 4-4 overall and 0-4 in the NSIC.
U of M, Crookston returns to NSIC action on Sunday, December 18 when they travel to Wayne State College. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
