Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- The Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) Men's Basketball team had established itself as one on the contenders in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) going into their game with the University of Minnesota, Crookston on Saturday night in Moorhead. The Dragons had amassed a 6-0 overall record and a 2-0 league record. MSUM battled a valiant Golden Eagle effort and was able to come out on top defeating the Golden Eagles 64-61.

U of M, Crookston was close to taking a 33-30 lead into the locker room at the half before MSUM's D.J. Hamilton sunk a three-point field goal at the buzzer to tie the game at 33-33. The second half was equally as contested before MSUM's Andrew Havermaet drained a three-pointer with 1:05 to go to give the Dragons the 64-61 victory.

U of M, Crookston's Akeem Cubie (6-6, Sr, G/F, Minneapolis, Minn.) led all scorers with 27 points (11-14). Jacolby Anderson (6-2, Sr, G, Lancaster, Tex.) added 15 points (6-14).

MSUM was led by Jake Lindfors who scored 20 points (8-13). Charlie Chapman added 13 points (5-12) while Alex Novak chipped in with 12 points (6-7) and ten rebounds.

The Dragons improve to 7-0 and 3-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 4-3 and 0-3 in the NSIC.

U of M, Crookston returns to NSIC action on Saturday, December 17 and Sunday, December 18 when they travel to Augustana College and Wayne State College respectively. Saturday's game starts at 6 p.m. while Sunday's begins at 4 p.m.
