(Crookston, Minn.)- After a successful start to the season on the road, the University of Minnesota, Crookston Men's Basketball team returns home for three games this week. The Golden Eagles start with a non-conference game against Crown College on Tuesday, November 29 at 7 p.m. They open the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) season on Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3 against the University of Minnesota, Duluth (UMD) and Bemidji State University (BSU) respectively. Friday's game begins at 8 p.m. while Saturday's game begins at 6 p.m.
U of M, Crookston opened the regular season with a bang defeating Northland International University on Monday by a score of 93-51 and the College of St. Scholastica on Tuesday by a score of 79-53. The Golden Eagles are led by
Akeem Cubie (6-6, Sr, G/F, Minneapolis, Minn.) who is averaging 20 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
Jacolby Anderson (6-2, Sr, G, Lancaster, Tex.) is averaging 13.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
Keith Newberry, Jr. (6-7, So, F/C, Rochester Hills, Mich.) is averaging ten points and five rebounds per game.
Golden Eagles vs. Crown College Tuesday, November 29 7 p.m.
The Storm have an overall record of 1-2 after splitting games at the Buzz Levick Tournament in Waverly, Iowa on November 18 and 19. Wartburg College defeated Crown 72-53 but the Storm rebounded against Macalester College winning by a 50-47 clip. Crown College is led by Taylor Jones who is averaging 14 points per game. David Glover is averaging 13.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. Truman Shelter is averaging ten points and five rebounds per game.
Golden Eagles vs. University of Minnesota Duluth Friday, December 2 8 p.m.
The Bulldogs have an overall record of 3-1 after defeating the University of Wisconsin-Superior by a score of 75-54 on Tuesday. UMD is led by Ryan Rasmussen who is averaging 20.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Jake Hottenstine is averaging 17.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
Golden Eagles vs. Bemidji State University Saturday, December 3 6 p.m.
The Beavers have an overall record of 5-1 after winning two games at the InnKeepers Beaver Classic in Bemidji this past weekend. BSU defeated Minot State University by a 74-45 score on Friday and Michigan Tech University by a score 63-58 score on Saturday. The Beavers are led by James Ellisor who is averaging 21 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
