Box Score (St. Paul, Minn.)- The Golden Eagle Women's Basketball team traveled to the 2011 Radisson Roseville Classic in St. Paul today to take on No. 9 Michigan Tech. Minnesota, Crookston went down 33-14 at half before rallying back in the second half 38-29. Unfortunately the first half deficit was too big as Michigan Tech took the 62-52 victory.
Minnesota, Crookston was led by Carli Bunning (F, 6-0, Jr., Boone, Iowa) who scored 12 points. She was 4-6 from the field, 4-4 from the free throw line and grabbed five rebounds.
Megan Eul (F, 5-10, Sr., Rosemount, Minn.) followed Bunning with 10 points and tied a team-high with three assists.
Laurie Tyson (C, 6-1, Jr., Rosemount Minn.) tied Bunning with five rebounds in the contest. The Golden Eagle bench continued to play outstanding, scoring 28 points to Michigan Tech's 15.
Michigan Tech was led by Lindsey Lindstrom who scored a game-high 13 points. Emma Veach grabbed nine rebounds while Sam Hoyt dished a game-high five assists.
Minnesota, Crookston is 2-1 on the season. No. 9 Michigan Tech advances to 3-1 overall on the season. The Golden Eagles return to the court tomorrow at the Radisson Roseville Classic to play Mount Mercy College. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. The NSIC season-opener is scheduled for Friday, December 2 at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. The Golden Eagles will host the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth at 6 p.m.
