Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- The College of St. Scholastica (CSS) jumped out to a 23-10 lead over the University of Minnesota, Crookston Men's Basketball squad with 11:14 gone in the first half. However, the Golden Eagles responded by taking a 35-30 lead into the locker room and outscored the Saints 44-23 the rest of the way on their way to a 79-53 non-conference victory tonight in Duluth, Minn.
Akeem Cubie (6-6, Sr, G/F, Minneapolis, Minn.) led all scorers with 22 points (8-16). He also added six rebounds.
Jacolby Anderson (6-2, Sr, G, Lancaster, Tex.) scored 13 points (6-10).
Abdou Niang (6-9, Jr, F, Dakar, Dakar, Senegal) scored 12 points (5-8) with ten rebounds.
Keith Newberry, Jr. (6-7, So, F, C, Rochester Hills, Mich.) added ten points (5-5).
The Saints were led by Chris Hamers who scored 14 points (5-12). Brett Tester added 11 points (5-12) and seven rebounds.
CSS falls to 0-4. U of M, Crookston improves to 2-0.
U of M, Crookston returns home for a non-conference game on Tuesday, November 29 against Crown College. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Lysaker Gymnasium.
