Sports Responsibilities: Men's and Women's Cross Country, Hockey, Tennis

Kieran Lang is in his third season as a Communications and Marketing Assistant, where he plays a key role in supporting the department’s communications, marketing, and promotional efforts. He assists in overseeing sport-specific communications, manages game statistics and event coverage, and contributes to the development and execution of marketing initiatives and fan–engagement strategies. Before stepping into his current role, Lang served as a summer intern with Minnesota Crookston, where he gained hands-on experience in many of the same areas including marketing plan development, event support, and communications strategy.

In his current position, Lang serves as the primary communications contact for men’s and women’s cross country, hockey, and tennis, providing media relations support, statistical coverage, and content creation for each program. He is also heavily involved in game day promotions, marketing events, and fan engagement. Additionally, Lang works closely with the club hockey team, coordinating promotional efforts, assisting with outreach initiatives, and traveling with the team to tournaments to represent Golden Eagle Athletics and deliver comprehensive game coverage.

A native of Holly Springs, NC, Lang earned his degree in sport management from Western Carolina University, where he developed his passion for collegiate athletics and communications. He resides in Grand Forks, ND with his wife Taylor.
