2023 (Junior): McKinney had ten sets played in seven matches while having six points, five kills and 24 total attempts. On the defensive side McKinney had three digs.

Prior to UMC: McKinney played two seasons of junior college volleyball at Feather River College in Quincy, Calif. As a sophomore, she competed in 37 matches, with 114 sets played. McKinney averaged 1.02 kills per set and hit .348. She also notched 0.93 blocks per set. McKinney had a season-high nine kills on two occasions, Cabrillo College (Oct. 8) and Lassen Community College (Oct. 20). She notched a season-high seven blocks at UC-Santa Cruz (Oct. 8) and had six blocks on two occasions versus College of San Mateo. Feather River went 36-1 during her sophomore season. They captured the 2022 CCCAA Women's Volleyball Championship with a 3-0 victory over American River College. McKinney went to Bishop Manogue H.S. As a senior, she hit .553 with 1.4 kills per set. During her junior season, she notched 0.6 kills per set. As a senior, McKinney notched 0.8 blocks per set. 

She is the daughter of Jacqueline Smith. McKinney plans to major in biology at Minnesota Crookston.
