Assistant coach Heather Grieser has been with the University of Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagle Volleyball program since 2007. Prior to joining the Golden Eagles, Grieser spent two years with the Pioneers of Glenville State College in Glenville, W.V. Grieser spent 8 years coaching USA Junior Olympic volleyball with Premier Volleyball Club out of Toledo, OH. While at Premier, she coached various national level teams ranging in age from 15's through 18's. Grieser also served as the Tournament Director for the club, helping to organize and run over 65 tournaments per season. Her Premier Volleyball Club teams have won many honors, including an Ohio Valley Regional championship in 1998 (17's) and a National Junior Invitational Tournament championship in 2002 (16's).
In 2004, Grieser served as an assistant coach at Siena Heights University in Adrian, MI. Prior to assisting at SHU, Grieser was the varsity volleyball coach at Liberty Center High School (Liberty Center, OH) in 2002, and served as the varsity volleyball coach at Swanton High School (Swanton, OH) in 2001. Both programs showed marked improvement during Grieser's tenure. From 1996 to 2000, Grieser served as the assistant coach for Owens Community College in Toledo, OH. The 1995 Owens Express volleyball team posted a 6-21 record. In 1996, the squad finished 15-21 and earned a berth in the NJCAA National Championship tournament where they finished in 5th place. The Express continued improving, winning several OCCAC regular season and tournament champion titles, and qualified for the NJCAA National tournament every season. The 2000 team finished the season with a 46-7 record, were undefeated OCCAC regular season champions and OCCAC tournament champions, and finished 3rd in the NJCAA National tournament. The Owens Express were honored to have several players earn All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American honors during the 5 seasons that Grieser served as an assistant.
In addition to coaching, Grieser is a Junior Olympic volleyball official for USA Volleyball, working mostly in the Ohio Valley Region. She has officiated in this capacity for 7 years and holds a Regional ranking.
Grieser earned her B.A in Psychology from the University of Toledo in 1997, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She continued her education the University of Toledo, completing her requirements for a Secondary Education certification with a specialization in Social Studies in 2000.
