"I chose to attend the University of Minnesota Crookston because I believe the small campus and small class sizes will be of great benefit for me academically," Mierzejewski said. "Also, I am very happy that I get to play on a team close to home. It is comforting to be on a team surrounded by girls who grew up playing the same type of Minnesota soccer as I did. It is exciting to get the chance to play on a team with other girls from various states around the U.S. It will be a new experience for me to incorporate different values on the soccer field with girls outside of Minnesota, something that I have never gotten the chance to do before."
