Morgan Philliber

Morgan Philliber is in her second season as assistant coach for the women's soccer program. Philliber came to UMN Crookston after spending one season as the assistant women's soccer coach at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.

In her first season at Minnesota Crookston, Philliber helped recruit a large class for Minnesota Crookston with 11 newcomers for the 2024 season, bringing the Golden Eagle roster to a program-record 27. She helped oversee the day-to-day operations of the program, and helped lead soccer camps, and work with the goalkeepers, among many other responsibilities. Philliber has also been very involved with SAAC as the co-advisor, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, and other major initiatives on the Minnesota Crookston campus. 

Philliber helped the Beavers to their best season in ten years. She helped the team improve in each statistical category from 2021 to 2022, including nearly doubling their goals for and cutting their goals against by 24. The defense also had two shutouts, tying its mark from the 2019 season.

Prior to jumping into the coaching ranks, Philliber was a member of the soccer team at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. She received the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Defensive Player of the Week award, UMAC Defensive Player of the Year accolades, UMAC First Team All-Conference, and numerous Academic All-Conference accolades. Philliber served as team captain for the Yellowjackets. She played goalie for Wisconsin-Superior. Philliber helped lead her team to the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament for their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

Philliber graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2021, with a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science with minors in health and coaching. While at Wisconsin-Superior, she was a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC). She served as vice president and president. She also served the UMAC SAAC Group as the head chair.

She is a native of Apple Valley, Minn., and attended Edina H.S., as a prep.
