Ryan Moynihan is in his second full season as an assistant for the Golden Eagles, and third with the program after serving as a volunteer for Minnesota Crookston. Moynihan helps with scouting, player development, recruiting, and heads up the team's social media presence on their individual sport pages.Â
For the 2024-25 season, he helped the Golden Eagles to a NSIC Tournament first round berth, and helped Emma Miller and Nicole Hernandez set program records. In addition, Emma Miller and Riley Jenkins earned All-NSIC laurels for the Golden Eagles.Â
For the 2023-24 season, Moynihan helped with individual instruction during practices, managing the team's social media presence and content generation for team-specific pages. He helped break down game film, and contributed strategic game planning, and was on the bench for home games. Moynihan will continue with those responsibilities, but will expand his role, including game scouts, and traveling with the team, among other additional duties.Â
Prior to Minnesota Crookston, Moynihan spent three years as the assistant director/broadcast operations and digital strategy at Division I Fairfield University. At Fairfield, Moynihan managed all Fairfield live broadcast operations, and Stags Sports Network content. He also produced and directed over 50 ESPN broadcasts and 145 total broadcasts per year.
In addition, Moynihan was an AAU basketball assistant coach for Connecticut Elite for 14U and 10U. He created practice plans, helped players with skill improvement and development, and coached games. He also served as a practice player for Fairfield University women's basketball from 2015-19, managing practice players, learning opposing team scouts, and practicing with the team daily.
Moynihan earned his Master's Degree in communications from Fairfield in 2019. He received his Bachelor of Arts in film, television, and media arts from Fairfield in 2017. Moynihan also received minors in sports management, and management.
