Pomeroy joins the Golden Eagles after most recently serving as the Assistant Director for Strength and Conditioning at Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU).

At SMSU, Pomeroy oversaw strength programming and led team lifts for baseball, swimming and diving, and cross country. He also played a vital support role with cheerleading, wheelchair basketball, softball, volleyball, and wrestling. Additionally, he created developmental lift programs for the Mustang football team, demonstrating his commitment to long-term athletic development.

Prior to his time at SMSU, Pomeroy gained valuable experience as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville from fall 2022 through fall 2023. He was the primary strength coach for the men’s and women’s basketball, softball, volleyball, and wrestling programs. His responsibilities also included running team warm-ups, consulting with sport coaches, and developing individualized programming to enhance performance across teams.

In 2021, Pomeroy completed a strength and conditioning internship at the University of Dubuque. There, he worked hands-on with student-athletes from baseball, softball, lacrosse, football, and soccer, supporting their strength training and athletic development goals.

A former student-athlete himself, Pomeroy played collegiate baseball and brings a firsthand understanding of the demands placed on student-athletes. He completed his playing career at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he was named Honorable Mention All-Conference as a pitcher. He previously competed for the University of Dubuque from 2018-22, earning Second Team All-Conference honors as a utility player and leading by example on and off the field. In 2022, Pomeroy was recognized with the Wendt Character Athlete of the Year Award, the Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award, and the Exercise Science Award of Excellence.

Pomeroy earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Wellness and Exercise Science from the University of Dubuque, graduating in 2022. He holds a Master of Science in Sport Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville (2024) and is currently completing a second Master of Science in Physical Education: Coaching Sport from Southwest Minnesota State University.
