Tim Lubke,a former University of Minnesota Crookston men's basketball player, is entering his fourth season as an assistant coach for the Golden Eagles in 2024-25.
Lubke has worked with countless basketball players for Kingdom Hoops, who have gone on to a plethora of a NCAA Division I, II, and III programs including: University of South Dakota, University of North Dakota, the Air Force Academy, Drake University, University of Iowa, University of Northern Iowa, Minnesota Crookston, and Minnesota State University, Mankato. He coached children grades 4-11 most recently coaching the last two Kingdom Hoops 17u squads.
In 2022-23, Coach Lubke used his extensive experience to coach a Golden Eagles team that only had three players returning from the previous season.
In 2024-25, Lubke was a catalyst in the first ranked win for the Golden Eagles since 2013, when the maroon and gold knocked off No. 17 Minot State. He also worked closely with NSIC second team performer, Reid Grant. Grant and Blaize Sagna, who was named to the second team in 2023-24, became the first teammates in Golden Eagle history to be named to an All-NSIC team in back-to-back years.
During his career as a Golden Eagle, Lubke amassed 450 points. As a senior during the 2014-15 season, he averaged 6.4 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. Lubke was an 88.0% free throw shooter his senior season and shot 34.4% from beyond the arc. Against St. Cloud State his senior year, Lubke tallied 17 points, including going 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. For his career, Lubke was a 37.7 percent three-point shooter and a 78.8 percent free throw shooter.
"I'm very excited to be back with the Golden Eagle family," Lubke remarked. "I loved playing for Coach Weisse during my senior year. This will be a great opportunity to learn more and coach with him. I've always wanted to be a college coach and now I'm starting on this dream. I couldn't be happier to begin my journey at UMN Crookston."
He is a native of St. Paul, Minn., attending Tartan H.S. as a prep. Lubke resides in Crookston, Minn., with his wife Lauren and son, Shiloh.
