Hunt heads into his second season as an assistant coach with the Golden Eagles in 2025-26.

In 2024-25, Hunt was on the bench for five wins, including a win over nationally ranked Minot State. Hunt also coached Reid Grant to an All-NSIC Second Team honor. Grant and former teammate Blaize Sagna were the first Golden Eagle duo in program history to be named to an all-league team.

Hunt, a Ypsilanti, Mich., native spent this past season as an assistant coach of Division II Chadron State. In his one season at Chadron State, he helped Josh Robinson to a CSC Academic All-American nod in the classroom. Robinson and Martin Poznanovic were selected CSC Academic All-District. On the court, he coached Robinson and Bryce Lattimer to All-RMAC Second Team accolades.

Prior to collegiate coaching, Hunt spent his time at the high school ranks. In 2015, Hunt started his own non-profit basketball organization, One Ball Basketball.

In 2017, he was named varsity assistant coach and the head of player development at Weston Ranch High School in Stockton, Calif. During his three-year tenure with the Cougars, he helped lead them to new heights, where they finished league champions, Sac-Joaquin Section Division III championships and qualified for 'open division', finishing the season 30-2.

Hunt moved on to accept the associate head coach position at Lincoln High School, also in Stockton. His squad finished 59-11 during his tenure and would make the playoffs each season. Lincoln also made history by reaching the second round of the CIF-State Playoffs.

He then made his way to collegiate basketball, where he was named the top assistant at College of San Mateo for the 2022-23 season. There, he led the Bulldogs to 14-16 season and coached an all-conference first teamer and a pair of all-conference performers.

Hunt received his bachelor's degree in communications from California State University, Stanislaus in 2014 and is currently receiving his master's degree in trauma in educational communities from Eastern Oregon University.
