Was named a team captain prior to the start of the 2014 season.

2013 (Junior): Appeared in all 11 games with nine starts as a junior for the Golden Eagles...Caught 17 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown...Best game came in the season opener against Upper Iowa at home with five catches for 61 yards...Had six grabs for 24 yards against Wayne State...One touchdown came on a five-yard strike against Minot State.

2012 (Sophomore): Appeared in 11 games with six starts at wide receiver for the Golden Eagles...Had big improvement over sophomore year in which he played in eight games but had no touches...Was second on the team with 40 receptions and led the team with 498 receiving yards for the Golden Eagles...Had eight touchdown receptions which tied Carl Aho for second all-time for that mark...Grabbed six balls for 91 yards in NSIC victory over Southwest Minnesota State with one touchdown...Had seven catches for 64 yards and a touchdown versus MSU Moorhead...Tallied three grabs for 66 yards and two touchdowns versus Minot State...Grabbed three catches for 79 yards and a touchdown versus Minnesota Duluth...Had four receptions for 79 yards and two touchdowns in season-ending victory over U-Mary.

2011 (Redshirt Freshman): Appeared in eight games as a wide receiver with one start...Had no receptions as a sophomore.

2010 (Freshman): Appeared in one game as a freshman for the Golden Eagles but still earned a redshirt season for the Golden Eagles.

High School: Played high school ball at Cesar Chavez H.S...Was a high school teammate of Jonique Andrews.

Personal: Son of Marceda Sweeney and Stacey Cheatham...Born Feb. 12, 1992...Majoring sports and recreation management...Uncle Calvin Sweeney, former wide receiver at University of Southern California who also played from 1980-87 for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL...Related to Chris Cash, who played for the Detroit Lions...Full name Marcus Jamal Lee Cheatham...Second oldest of six children.
