Prior to UMN Crookston: Yates was a First Team Eastern Panhandle Athletic Conference pick as a sophomore, junior, and senior at Hedgesville H.S... She was a First Team All-Region selection as a sophomore, junior, and senior... Yates served as a team captain as a sophomore, junior, and senior... She was a four-year varsity starter... Yates was her Team Defensive MVP as a sophomore, junior, and senior.
