Biography

2018 (Redshirt Sophomore): Appeared in seven games and had five starts at offensive right tackle...Lanasa and the Golden Eagles produced 865 rushing yards and 1,664 passing yards on the season.

2017 (Redshirt Freshman): Started all 11 games at right tackle... Helped protect the quarterback as UMC was able to pass for 2,013 yards through the air.

2016 (Freshman): Originally came to U of M Crookston to play men's basketball, but joined the football team for Spring Ball...Will have four years to compete for the Golden Eagles. 

Prior to UMC: Originally from Soo Hill, Mich., but moved to Eden Prairie in middle school. Lanasa spent the last year attending the University of St. Thomas after attending the University of Nebraska during the summer session, where he was set to walk-on before suffering an injury...He did not compete in collegiate athletics as a freshman and will have four years to compete for the Golden Eagles...Lanasa helped Eden Prairie H.S. to a 22-7 mark during the 2014-15 season, averaging 13 points, 10 rebounds and three assists per game as a senior...He helped his team to a sectional finals appearance...Lanasa was a First-team All-Lake Conference pick. Played under David Flom. Lanasa played two years of varsity basketball at Eden Prairie H.S., as well as two years of football...On the gridiron, he helped the school to back-to-back state Class 6A football titles in 2013 and 2014...Lanasa played tight end for a team that went 25-0 in his two years on varsity...Competed in the AAU circuit for the Minnesota Magic...In the classroom, was an AP Scholar with Honors and earned the President's Award.

Personal: Lanasa was born Aug. 25, 1996...He is the son of Matt Lanasa of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Dawn Hanson of Esconaba, Mich...Lanasa plans to major in Agricultural Business at UMC...His cousin Trent Schwalbach played baseball at Lakeland College...His step-dad Scott Hanson played basketball at Southern California College...When he hurt himself at Nebraska playing basketball, he was told he would never be able to play sports again, but he had surgery and was cleared to play...Ag-Arama Royalty.
