2017: Redshirt junior season...Was key starter for the Golden Eagles...Appeared in 14 games with 10 starts...Led the U of M Crookston with six wins...Was 6-3 with 4.62 ERA in 50.2 innings pitched...Notched 34 strikeouts to 10 walks...Pitched complete game shutout over U-Mary, giving up three hits and picking up five strikeouts...Gave up one run in wins over Bemidji State and Southwest Minnesota State...Notched six strikeouts in win over Mansfield March 15. 

2016: Junior season...Redshirted initial season with UMC...Will have two years to play two for the Golden Eagles. 

Prior to UMC: Butcher appeared in 7.2 innings as a sophomore for Blue Mountain C.C., striking out eight batters in five games...As a freshman, appeared in 20.1 innings with five starts with eight strikeouts on the season...Butcher was named the Most Improved Player on the Blue Mountain C.C. squad...In high school, competed for Colony H.S., where he was a two-time First Team All-State and First Team All-Region recipient...Butcher played with Matthew Dallas at Blue Mountain Community College and was coached by Dallas during the 2015 season.

Personal: Butcher is the son of Joel and Pamela Butcher and was born Aug. 11, 1995...He plans to major in golf and turf management..Butcher's uncle Brian Bradley played at North Idaho College.
