2017: Junior season...Started the season in starting rotation, but came into his own in the bullpen...Finished the season with a 3-5 mark and a 7.07 ERA in 35.2 innings pitched...Notched 14 strikeouts on the season...Had 14 appearances with five starts...Pitched two no-hit shutout innings in relief against Minnesota Duluth...Picked up a win in 4.1 shutout innings against Upper Iowa April 14. 

Prior to UMC: Cavasos competed at Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls, Minn...A 2015 All-Minnesota Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) Northern Division pick...He helped the Pioneers to a 25-15 mark during the 2015 season...Cavasos had a 6-2 record in the MCAC as a freshman and he pitched over 60 innings...He was a First Team All-District pick in high school for Stevens H.S. in San Antonio, Texas...Posted a 4-5 mark with a 4.07 ERA in 59.2 innings pitched with 61 strikeouts as a sophomore at Northland CTC...Hit .364 with three RBI's and two runs scored for the season.
