Biography

2026 (Redshirt Sophomore): Earned a medical redshirt in 2025...Has continued to battle injuries in hiscareer...Made six appearances out of the bullpen with 5.1 innings pitched...Finished with a 6.75 ERA with two strikeouts and six walks...Shut down opponents with scoreless innings against UC-Colorado Springs, Southwest Minnesota State, Concordia-St. Paul, and Sioux Falls. 

2025 (Sophomore): Barta made five appearances, with 2.2 innings pitched...He struck out three, and walked six...Barta notched a scoreless inning against Augustana. 

2024 (Freshman): Barta came out of the bullpen as a freshman for the Golden Eagles...He went 0-0, with a 2.38 ERA in 11.1 innings pitched...Barta made 10 appearances...He struck out four, and walked seven...Barta did not give up a run in his final six appearances of the season. 

Prior to UMN Crookston: Barta is a Fargo Davies High School standout...He was a two-time Cy Young winner and competed in the Eastern Dakota Conference.
 
Personal: Barta is the son of Wendy and Chad Barta and plans to major in Criminal Justice at Minnesota Crookston...His brother, Cayden, pitched at the University of Minnesota Crookston from 2014-17...Carsen has also been named to the 'A' honor roll three different times.
