2021 (Redshirt Junior): Thoma was originally slated to miss the entire 2021 season due to injury, but his recovery progressed quicker than originally thought and he played late in the season...Thoma was named the 2021 NSIC Elite 18 Award winner for baseball...Thoma started five games and appeared in six for the Golden Eagles...He hit .063 with one run scored, one home run, and one RBI...He played as a designated hitter for the Golden Eagles.
2020 (Junior): Added pitching to his repertoire for the 2020 season...While also catching for the Golden Eagles...Hit .342 in 12 starts with 13 appearances...Posted a 1.000 OPS...Scored eight runs, had two doubles, two home runs, seven RBIs, and six walks...Went 3-of-5 with three runs scored and three RBIs against Florida Tech...Was 3-of-4 with run scored against USciences...Posted an 0-2 mark with a 5.19 ERA in 8.2 innings pitched with three games played and one start...Notched 11 strikeouts and three walks...Had five strikeouts over four innings versus Pittsburg State...Threw one out from behind the plate as a catcher during the 2020 season.

2018: Freshman season...Played in 44 games as a freshman for the Golden Eagles, starting in 41...Scored 21 runs on the season...Hit .195 with two homeruns with 21 RBI's...Hit his first career homerun in a win over Bemidji State.
Prior to Minnesota Crookston: Thoma played hockey, baseball and football for Bagley H.S. He was a First Team All-Conference pick as a junior. Thoma helped lead Bagley H.S. to third place in the conference and third place in the section. As a sophomore, Thoma was Second Team All-Conference. He plays amateur baseball for the Bemidji Blue Ox. He was Second Team All-Conference in football and led the team in tackles. As a member of the hockey team, he earned the team Character Award.
