CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team is set to play a pair of games on the road Friday, September 25 at Northern State University at 6 p.m., and Sunday, September 27 at the University of Jamestown at 12 p.m.

The Golden Eagles come in with an 0-4-3 (0-3-1 NSIC) mark. The Golden Eagles have already tied their most draws since 2017. The most draws the squad has ever had were six in 2014. Northern State comes into Friday with a 3-1-2 (2-0-2 NSIC) record. Jamestown is 2-4-1 (2-2 NSIC) coming into the weekend.

Minnesota Crookston comes into Friday with an 0-4-3 mark (0-3-1 NSIC). The Golden Eagles are seeking their first win, but have been solid defensively through seven games and have three draws this season. Minnesota Crookston enters with three shutouts. They have been guided by goalkeepers Phoenix DeBrusk and Payton King. DeBrusk has a 0.91 goals against average with 20 saves, while King has a 0.67 goals against average with six saves. DeBrusk and King split halves in the last two games. DeBrusk had 90 minutes of shutout soccer last weekend. Minnesota Crookston has also been aided defensively by center backs Riley Edemann (So., D, Santa Clarita, Calif.), Norah Lutz (Jr., D, Dewitt, Mich.), and Kali Yates (Sr., D, Hedgesville, W.V.), who have done a great job protecting the defensive third for the Golden Eagles.

Offensively, Minnesota Crookston is searching for their first goal of the season. They have been led offensively by forward Jillian Muehlberger (Shawnee, Kan.), who has a team-high seven shots, with four on goal. Tessa VanOverbeke (Hartford, S.D.) has generated six shots with five on frame from her outside back position. Callie Holthaus (Jr., F, Richmond, Minn.) comes in with four shots working on the wing mostly for the Golden Eagles. Marasia Warren (Fr., F, Vermillion, S.D.) has come off the bench for four shots. 

In the center of the park everything continues to flow through 2025 All-NSIC Second Team performer Emmah Burnes (Sr., MF, Tulare, Calif.), and Andrea Cuenca Medina (Jr., MF, South St. Paul, Minn.). Burnes has three shots, while Cuenca Medina has two. 

The Golden Eagles are averaging 6.6 shots per game, and have been efficient with a 65.2 percent shots on goal percentage. Defensively, they are limiting teams to 0.86 goals per game with 11.3 shots per game and just a 40.3 shots on goal percentage.

The Wolves look to junior Jaylee Hofer with two goals and two assists, and a team-high 10 shots. Senior Chloe Voss also has two goals, and two assists. Kylie Albert enters with a goal, and an assist. Abby Missman, and Lauren Youngquist have also accounted for goals.

In goal, Audrey Burns comes in with a 0.91 goals against average, with 22 saves, and a .815 saves percentage. She has three shutouts this season. 

Northern State defeated St. Cloud State 2-0 last Friday, and tied No. 5 Minnesota State 0-0 Sunday in Aberdeen, S.D., for a major result.

They are tallying just 6.4 shots per game, and a 37.8 shots on goal percentage, as they haven't been super efficient in finding opportunities on frame. Defensively, they are allowing 2.00 goals per game, with 18.3 shots per game allowed, and a 48.4 shots on goal percentage.

Offensively, Jamestown is guided by Juliet Lopez with three goals. In addition, Bre Oettle has two goals, and an assist. Vega Canada has a team-high nine shots this season with one goal. Bailey Fox has an assist. 

In goal, the Jimmies have relied on Taylor Musser with six starts and a 2.19 goals against average. Musser has 40 saves, and a 76.9 saves percentage. 

Jamestown fell 2-0 at home Friday to fifth-ranked Minnesota State. They defeated St. Cloud State 2-1 Sunday.

The Golden Eagles and Wolves tied 0-0 last season in Crookston. Northern State has won the last four games in Aberdeen, S.D. Minnesota Crookston's last win in Aberdeen came with a 2-1 win on October 18, 2015. Jamestown has won the last two games in the series. Minnesota Crookston tied the Jimmies 1-1 in Jamestown, N.D. in 2009, and last won in Jamestown, October 1, 2003.
