Minnesota Crookston Volleyball Adds Length and Athleticism with Signings of Gysbers, Crane and Dinges to 2026 Class

Crookston, Minn. -- Minnesota Crookston volleyball head coach Kathleen Rustad announced the signings of Brooklyn Gysbers (Fr., OH/DS, 5-11, White Bear Lake, Minn.), Madilyn Dinges (Fr., MH, 6-0, Hartford, S.D.) and Jacelyn Crane (Fr., MH/OPP, 6-0, Cumming, Iowa) to the 2026 class.

 

Coach Rustad is excited to add her first signees to the current Golden Eagle roster.

 

"I am thrilled to announce the signings of three future Golden Eagles," said the first year head coach. "I can not wait to get them on campus and build something special."

 

They are the first signees of Rustad's coaching tenure, joining three that signed in the fall; Bella Peters (MB, Altona, Manitoba), Ava Leingang (OH, Fargo, N.D.) and Hannah Nesdahl (D.S., Sioux Falls, S.D.) all signed to the Golden Eagles previously to the class of 2026.

 

The Golden Eagles will return several impact players including Madison Carsten (Jr., OH, Wadena, Minn.), Carizma Muth (R-So., OH, Randolph, Wis.), Emma Malek (Jr., MH, Plainfield, Ill.), and Lexi Scharold (So., MH, Alexandria, Kent.), among others.

 

The signees who are reported in this release either signed an Athletic Aid Agreement or an Institutional Declaration of Intent (IDI). All signees released by the University of Minnesota Crookston have been verified by the compliance office that all documents have been properly signed and dated and have been authorized for release.  

 

Brooklyn Gysbers (Fr., OH/DS, White Bear Lake, Minn.)

Gysbers will don the maroon and gold after a standout career for Mounds View High School…Was named All-Conference Honorable Mention as a senior…Played for the club team, Kokoro.

 

Brooklyn is the daughter of Jessica and Matt Gysbers of White Bear Lake, Minn…Plans to major in Exercise Science at Minnesota Crookston.

"We are thrilled to officially announce a spectacular addition to our University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball family. Brooklyn comes to us from White Bear Lake, Minnesota, having built an incredible career on the court as a premier, college-ready attacker. Her heavy swing, explosive vertical jump, and fierce defensive versatility earned her All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in one of the toughest high school leagues in the state."

Madilyn Dinges (Fr., MB, Sioux Falls, S.D.)

Dinges is the second signee for the Golden Eagles from South Dakota…Dinges was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player and named to the All-Tournament Team at State…Dinges was also named to the South Dakota All-Academic State Team…Her sister, Genevieve, plays softball at Dakota Wesleyan.

 

Madilyn is the daughter of Amory and Chris Dimick of Hartford, S.D…Madilyn plans to major in Criminal Justice at Minnesota Crookston.

"We are thrilled to officially welcome Madilyn Dinges to our Golden Eagle family. On the court, she brings elite, net-defying size and a dynamic offensive toolkit that earned her Most Valuable Offensive Player honors at Sioux Falls Lutheran. What makes her truly special, however, is her relentless drive in the classroom and her community, culminating in her South Dakota Academic All-State distinction. Madilyn is an example of a high-character, elite dual-threat athlete who excels at the highest levels both athletically and scholastically."

Jacelyn Crane (Fr., MB/OPP, Cumming, Iowa)

Crane brings a winning mentality to the Golden Eagles…Helped her Warriors squad to 107 wins in her career and the first two State Tournaments in program history…In the classroom, was named to the Academic All-Conference, Academic All-State and was a winner of the Scholar Athlete of the Week.

 

Jacelyn is the daughter of Amy and Zac Crane…Plans to double major in Health Sciences and Biology while a student-athlete at the University of Minnesota Crookston.

She helped lead her high school team to 107 wins, four regional finals, and the first two state tournament appearances in the history of the volleyball program. On top of her heavy hitting and blocking skills, she also earned Academic All-Conference, All-State, and Scholar Athlete of the Week honors. From a Warrior to a Golden Eagle; Jacey Crane is officially taking her block party to Minnesota Crookston!"
