Crookston, Minn. -- Minnesota Crookston softball welcomed in St. Cloud State, one of the best teams in the NSIC for Senior Day on Saturday. The Huskies proved their position in the NSIC, sweeping Minnesota Crookston, 5-1 and 16-1.
Minnesota Crookston drops to 14-35 overall.
Game One
SCSU would get a run with two outs in the top of the first, as they would be hit by a pitch with the bases loaded for an early 1-0 lead.
The big swing would come in the bottom of the second, as Bethany Weiss would go deep for a three run home run to give the Huskies a 4-0 lead.
SCSU would add another run in the top of the seventh for a 5-0 lead.
Emilee Haggadone (Sr., C, Lincoln, Neb.) would drive in a run on her senior day, scoring Chayse Doering (So., OF, Shakopee, Minn.) to cut the deficit to four, but that's as close as the Golden Eagles would get, falling by four.
Doering stayed hot at the dish, going 2-3 on the day. Rayna French (Jr., C/OF, La Salle, Manitoba) and Haggadone each collected a hit.
Charlotte Dombrowski (Sr., P, Valparaiso, Ind.) was good on her senior day, giving up just five hits and four earned runs, going the distance.
Game Two
The Huskies would double their output and then some in game two.
SCSU would score six runs in the top of the first, all with two outs, taking an early advantage.
The Huskies would add a run in the second and six more in the fourth, taking a 13-0 lead.
Doering would go long for her fourth home run of the season in the bottom of the fourth.
SCSU would add three in the fifth for the 16-1 win.
The Golden Eagles had three hits in the game, as Doering, Madisen Yandle (So., SS, Lakeville, Minn.) and Hannah Trzinski (So., 1B/P, Stevens Point, Wis.) collected the trio of hits.

Minnesota Crookston will wrap-up their home schedule tomorrow afternoon against Concordia-St. Paul.
