Duluth, Minn. -- Minnesota Duluth mercy-ruled Minnesota Crookston in a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon, winning 13-0 in game one in five innings and 9-1 in game two, also in five innings.
Minnesota Crookston falls to 11-32 on the season.
Game One
Minnesota Duluth would strike early in the bottom of the first to take an early 1-0 lead.
Their big inning would take place in the second, using a pair of two-run home runs for a seven spot. UMD would score five more in the bottom of the fourth for the 13-0 win.
Minnesota Crookston had three hits in the game. Rayna French (Jr., C, La Salle, Manitoba), Chayse Doering (So., OF, Shakopee, Minn.) and Irelyn Spencer (R-Jr., IF, Rapid City, S.D.) each finished with a base knock.
Minnesota Crookston had three errors in the game as Charlotte Dombrowski (Sr., P, Valparaiso, Ind.) fell to 6-7, giving up five runs in 1.2 innings of work.
Game Two
Minnesota Crookston would get off to a much better start in game two, as they would take an early 1-0 lead on an RBI single from French, who would drive in Madisen Yandle (So., SS, Lakeville, Minn.).
UMD would answer with a run in each the second and third innings and would have another seven run inning, this time in the fourth. Once again, UMD would hit a pair of two-run home runs in the inning.
UMD would defeat the Golden Eagles in five innings, 9-1.
Minnesota Crookston finished with four hits in the game and left three runners on base.
Riley Blake (So., P/OF, Las Vegas, Nev.) gave up five earned runs in 3.2 innings of work, while falling to 0-3 in the circle.

Minnesota Crookston is back in action on Sunday, as they welcome in Bemidji State for their home opener doubleheader. First pitch with the Beavers is scheduled for 1 PM.
