Wayne, Neb. -- Ainsley McLain (Jr., Grafton, N.D.) shot a first round 78 on Monday afternoon at the Wildcat Classic hosted by Wayne State, to help the Golden Eagles to a tie for 10th after the first round.

Minnesota Crookston is in a tie with Concordia (Neb.) for 10th.

Minnesota State is in first, shooting 297 as a team during the first round. Wayne State College is in second after shooting 304 on the day. Sioux Falls is in third.

A pair of Minnesota State Mavericks are atop the leaderboard. Emerson Garlie and Sammy Youngquist sit in first and second, respectively.

McLain led the way for the Golden Eagles, finishing with two birdies on the day, helping her to a 78. Emma Pierson (Fr., Cherry Valley, Ill.), Lauren Bowyer (Sr., Ivanhoe, Minn.) and Libby Dulmage (Jr., Leeds, N.D.) are each in a tie for 59th, shooting 11 over on the day. Anaka Lysne (Sr., Wahpeton, N.D.) is in 66th after shooting an 84 on the day.

The Golden Eagles will look to move up the leaderboard tomorrow for the final round of the Wildcat Classic.
