Dombrowski's Outstanding Pitching Performance Leads Golden Eagles to First Ever Win over Augustana

Sioux Falls, S.D. -- For the first time in program history, Minnesota Crookston put a 'W' in the column over Augustana. Minnesota Crookston won game one, 2-1, before falling in game two, 10-0.

Minnesota Crookston improves to 9-24.

Game One

Game one would be the ultimate pitching duel.

The Golden Eagles would strike for a run early in the first, as Megan Surgenor (Fr., P/1B, Andover, Minn.) would double in Emily Kalina (Fr., OF, Rice Lake, Wis.) for an early 1-0 lead.

Charlotte Dombrowski (Sr., P, Valparaiso, Ind.) was locked in from the start, but gave up her only run of the game in the fourth on an RBI single.

The maroon and gold would get that run right back in the fifth, as Chayse Doering (So., OF, Shakopee, Minn.) would come through again with an RBI double, scoring Rayna French (Jr., C/OF, La Salle, Manitoba).

That would be more than enough for Dombrowski, who would leave a runner on in the sixth and seventh innings in the win.

Kalina led the way with a pair of hits, as the Golden Eagles finished with eight hits and left 10 runners on base.

Dombrowski was fantastic again in the win. The senior went the distance for the third time in four starts, giving up just one earned run on five hits.

Game Two

Game two would be all Vikings.

The Vikings would strike for a run in the second and then explode for nine runs in the third, which would be all they would need in the 10-0 game two win in five innings.

The Golden Eagles didn't have a hit in the game and left four runners on base.

What's Next

Minnesota Crookston will be at home next weekend for their home opener, as they welcome in Northern State for a Friday doubleheader.
