Minnesota Crookston Women's Golf Continues Spring Season in Kansas at Firekeeper Open

Mayetta, Kan. -- After a seventh and a fourth place finish at two tournaments in Arizona, Minnesota Crookston women's golf will return to the links for their third tournament of the spring. The Golden Eagles will compete at the Women's Firekeeper Open, hosted by Washburn University, tomorrow and Tuesday.

 

The Golden Eagles continued their streak of finishes inside the top-10 this season, placing top-10 in all seven tournaments this season and eighth straight, dating back to last season.

 

During her last time out at the SMSU Challenge, Anaka Lysne (Sr., Wahpeton, N.D.) finished third, which followed a fifth place finish at the SMSU Invite, giving the senior two top-five finishes in the sunshine. Lysne has five finishes in the top seven this season.

 

Emma Pierson (Fr., Cherry Valley, Ill.) was fantastic in Arizona as well, finishing 13th at both tournaments for the Golden Eagles. Libby Dulmage (Jr., Leeds, Ariz.) placed 34th at the SMSU Challenge, her second highest finish of the season.

 

Minnesota Crookston comes into the Firekeeper Open ranked 23rd in the region.

 

It will be a challenging field for Minnesota Crookston, as the teams competing include: Concordia-St. Paul, Central Oklahoma, Dodge City CC, Wayne State College, Northwest Missouri State, Fort Hays State, Upper Iowa, Rockhurst, Nebraska Kearney, Augustana, Washburn and East Central.
