Golden Eagle Hockey with a Pair of Five Point Performers in Win

Bottineau, N.D. - The Golden Eagles start off the weekend on a high note, with a 7-1 win over Dakota College at Bottineau. It was a strong night for the Golden Eagles on both ends of the ice, with Adam Goody (Jr., G, Airdrie, Alberta) backstopping the Golden Eagles with 14 saves on 15 shots against. Goody had entered the night with a 9-2-0 record, a 2.82 goals against average and a .905 save percentage. The Lumberjacks went with Josh Mack, who had a record of 2-11-0, a goals against average of 7.83 and a save percentage of .857.

The first period was the only quiet one all night, with just one goal with 12:40 left on the clock as Mason Romfo (So., F, Langdon, N.D.) scoring his first of the night to break the ice. Anthony Foster (Jr., F, Warroad, Minn.) and Colton Balcerak (Fr., F, Carpentersville, Ill.) assisted on the game's opening goal. That was it for the first period, with the Golden Eagles leading 1-0 in scoring and 19-6 in shots. 

The second period had a lot more activity than the first, with Romfo scoring his second goal of the game just 31 seconds into the second. Fox Dodds (5th, F, Watford City, N.D.) and Anthony Foster recorded assists. 15 minutes later, Mason Romfo scored his hat trick goal, which was his sixth career hat trick and third of the year. Foster collected his third assist of the night, Dylan Neubauer (5th, D, Grand Forks, N.D.) had the secondary assist. Two minutes later, Tyler Lorenz (So., D, Shakopee, Minn.) added to the growing lead with an assist from Jackson Dodds (5th, F, Watford City, N.D.) as the Golden Eagles took the 4-0 lead to the locker room. 

The third period had another quick start, with Foster scoring his first goal of the night just 2:30 in. Fox Dodds and Mason Romfo had the assists. 10 minutes later, Foster put home his second goal of the game, with Romfo collecting his second assist. Aidan McPhee (Sr., D, Brea, Calif.) had the secondary assist. With just 2:49 on the clock, the Golden Eagles scored their seventh and final goal of the game from Kadin Edwards (Fr., F, Crookston, Minn.) with his sixth goal of the season, Rudy Moser (So., F, Langdon, N.D.) had the assist. With 1:22 left on the clock, Goody's shutout bid was broken as Carter Ralston scored the lone goal for the Lumberjacks. 

In total: Mason Romfo and Anthony Foster each had five points, Fox Dodds had two points, Aidan McPhee, Dylan Neubauer, Colton Balcerak, Rudy Moser, and Jackson Dodds each had one point. It was a great night for the Golden Eagles, and they will look to cap off the regular season on a high note tomorrow at 1 p.m.
