Finch comes in with a shot on goal in two starts at outside back for the Golden Eagles. Finch will look to have a major impact in a variety of ways on the pitch this week.

• GOEHRING FACILITATING. Lily Goehring (Fr., MF, Hartford, S.D.) secured her first-ever collegiate assist Sunday against Black Hills State on Finch's goal. Goehring has come off the bench in two games, playing 64 minutes in the midfield. The Golden Eagles will continue to look to Goehring to make a positive impact.

• FRESHMEN IN GOAL. The Golden Eagles have started a pair of freshman in net in the first two games of the 2025 season. Payton King (Fr., GK, Fairfield, Calif.) started the game Thursday against Upper Iowa, putting up her first collegiate clean sheet in 90 minutes in net. King notched eight saves. Phoenix DeBrusk (Fr., GK, Thunder Bay, Ontario) started Sunday versus Black Hills State, allowing four goals. DeBrusk tallied six saves.

• NEWCOMERS. Minnesota Crookston has several newcomers who have jumped in and made a positive impact through two games. In addition to DeBrusk and King in goal, Riley Edemann (Fr., D, Santa Clarita, Calif.) has started two games at center back. Goehring, Aleisha Cortez (Fr., MF, South St. Paul, Minn.), and Norah Lutz (So., D, Dewitt, Mich.) all have come off the bench to make impacts for Minnesota Crookston.

• SETTING THE TONE. Minnesota Crookston captains Tessa VanOverbeke (Jr., D/MF, Hartford, S.D.), Emmah Burnes (Jr., MF, Tulare, Calif.), and Sarah Burgum (Sr., F, Mandan, N.D.) all have vast amounts of experience and are trying to set the tone for a young Golden Eagle squad. VanOverbeke, and Burnes have each started both games, VanOverbeke as an outside back, and Burnes as a defensive midfielder. Burgum has started one game, but played significant minutes in both games. Burgum is tied for the team lead with two shots.

• NEW ERA. Minnesota Crookston is in a new era of soccer with Head Coach Danny Burstein. Burstein is two games into his time as head coach for the Golden Eagles. Burstein has been an experienced coach. He is coming off a year as an assistant coach at the University of Nevada. He previously spent three seasons at North Dakota. Burstein was the head men's soccer coach in 2020 for the University of Providence in Montana. He has also been an assistant at the University of Providence, and Adams State University.

• THE RIVALRY ROCK. The Highway 75 Rivalry Rock has been a traveling trophy between the MSU Moorhead, and Minnesota Crookston soccer teams since 2013. The Golden Eagles will play two games for the Rivalry Rock in 2025, with games September 12 in Moorhead, and November 6 in Crookston. MSU Moorhead leads the series since 2013 6-4-2. The two teams tied 2-2 in 2024. MSU Moorhead had previously won the match-ups in 2022, and 2023. Minnesota Crookston won the games in 2021, 2016, 2015, and 2013. The rivalry was started by former coaches Joe Alianiello, and Rollie Bulock to commemorate the 78 miles between the two cities on U.S. Highway 75.

Quinn Carter, and Rylee Truslow each come in with a perfect 0.00 goals against average. Carter made four saves versus Black Hills State, while Truslow had seven saves against Nebraska Kearney. The defense will be an important factor for both teams this Friday as they battle for the Rivalry Rock.
