DULUTH, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team scored 11 runs in the final two stanzas to earn a 15-7 win over the University of Minnesota Duluth.

The Golden Eagles improved to 21-24 (18-17 NSIC) with the victory. Minnesota Duluth fell to 21-24 (17-18 NSIC) with Sunday's loss at Wade Stadium in Duluth, Minn. The Bulldogs win the series, but Minnesota Crookston pulls ahead in the NSIC standings. The Golden Eagles are in a three-way tie for sixth place with Southwest Minnesota State, and University of Mary heading into the final five games of the regular season. Minnesota Crookston is 5-2 in their last seven games.

Nate Benning (So., LHP, Browerville, Minn.) started and tossed two innings, allowing four runs on four hits. Caden Edwards (R-Sr., LHP, Duluth, Minn.) pitched an excellent relief outing, going four innings and allowing no runs on one hit. Isaac Roers (R-Jr., RHP, Stacy, Minn.) tossed an inning and allowed one run on one hit. Roers picked up the win, improving to 6-4. Nate Grafsgaard (R-Sr., RHP, Devils Lake, N.D.) allowed one run on one hit, while Jacob Mathiason (R-Sr., RHP, Rockford, Minn.) returned to the mound for the first time since March 8, allowing one run on one hit.

The loss for UMD went to Jalen Pascal, who allowed three runs on one hit.

The Golden Eagles were guided by Dylan Debilzen (Fr., OF, Parkers Prairie, Minn.), who was an impressive 4-of-6, with an RBI, and three runs scored, including his first collegiate home run. Aaron Wensloff (So., IF/OF, Roseau, Minn.) went 3-of-6, with three RBI and two runs scored. Sawyer Satrom (Sr., IF, Portland, N.D.) finished 2-of-5, with three RBI, and a run scored. Americo Sculati (R-Jr., OF, Golden Valley, Minn.) went 3-of-5, with an RBI and two runs scored. Minnesota Crookston had 19 hits in the offensive explosion.

Minnesota Crookston got out to an early 2-0 lead in the first with a Satrom single, driving in Debilzen, and Kyler Miller (Fr., IF, Grand Rapids, Minn.).

The Bulldogs countered with a four-run bottom of the third. Nathan Rosenberg singled to left field to plate Sam Kliber to cut it to 2-1. Garrett Stauffacher walked with the bases loaded, scoring Gabe Richardson. UMD completed the scoring in the third with a Hayden Anthony double to center field, plating Rosenberg, and Troy Lynch to give the Bulldogs a 4-2 advantage.

In the top of the fourth, Miller hit an infield single to bring in Kobe Senn (Sr., IF, Fargo, N.D.). To cap off the inning, Josh Dykhoff (Jr., DH, Wadena, Minn.) singled in Danny Wensloff (R-Sr., OF/C, Roseau, Minn.) to knot the score 4-4.

In the seventh stanza, Anthony used a sacrifice fly to score Rosenberg to put Minnesota Duluth ahead 5-4.

The Golden Eagles took the lead back in the top of the eighth with an Aaron Wensloff (So., IF/OF, Roseau, Minn.) double to score Debilzen, and Danny Wensloff. Minnesota Crookston moved their lead to 7-5 when Miller crossed the plate on a wild pitch. A Connor Bushbaum (Sr., OF, Saginaw, Minn.) single plated Aaron Wensloff, and Americo Sculati (R-Jr., OF, Golden Valley, Minn.) to extend their lead to 8-5. A Senn single scored Sculati to widen the gap to 9-5.

Minnesota Duluth cut the deficit to 9-6 on a Kliber groundout to bring in Joey Flom in the bottom of the eighth.

The Golden Eagles added to their advantage in the top of the ninth with Debilzen's first collegiate home run, extending their lead to 10-6. A Satrom single to left field scored pinch-runner Caden Kappes (So., IF, Wahpeton, N.D.) to push the tally to 11-6. The Golden Eagles pushed the advantage to 12-6 on an Aaron Wensloff single to plate Dykhoff. A Sculati single brought around Satrom to extend the lead to 13-6. Aaron Wensloff scored on a Bushbaum groundout to widen the gap to 14-6. Minnesota Crookston made it 15-6 when Sculati crossed the plate on a Senn groundout.

The Bulldogs got a run back in the bottom of the ninth with a Rosenberg solo shot, but they ultimately fell short 15-7.
